Drop a Photoshop file, an Illustrator file, a PDF or any image and get a JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF at the exact ad size, under the platform's file size limit, with the metadata removed. Files are decoded and encoded on this device and never uploaded.
Drop PSD, AI, PDF or images
PSD · AI · PDF · TIFF · SVG · PNG · JPG · WebP · AVIF · GIF · BMP · HEIC, plus EPS, Sketch and XD previews. Up to 5 files per run, 200 with Pro.
Every file is identified by its first bytes, not its extension, and read by the decoder that fits it. The table says what each one actually gives you.

Photoshop files and Maximize Compatibility
A PSD is a stack of layers, and drawing them exactly as Photoshop does means reproducing blend modes, layer effects, adjustment layers and smart filters, which no browser library does faithfully. What a converter can trust is the merged image Photoshop writes into the file when Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility is on (Settings, or Preferences in older versions, then File Handling). That is what this converter reads.
When the merged image is missing, Photoshop records the fact in the file and the converter says so, instead of handing you a blank picture. Switch Photoshop files to Rebuild from layers to draw the visible pixel layers with normal blending, opacity, raster masks and clipping; the result lists what it could not reproduce, such as layer effects or adjustment layers. CMYK, multichannel and 32 bit documents cannot be read, and 16 bit documents are reduced to 8 bits.
Illustrator files and Create PDF Compatible File
An AI file saved with Create PDF Compatible File, which is on by default in Illustrator's save options, carries a complete PDF of the artwork, and that is what the converter renders. Without it the file holds only Illustrator's private data, so the converter asks you to save it again rather than guess. If the file holds several pages, choose the page number, or convert every page with Pro.
Meeting a file size limit without changing the size
Pick a target and the converter searches the encoder quality. It encodes at your quality first; when that is too large, it halves the range between the lowest quality and yours until it finds the highest quality that fits, in at most nine encodes for JPG and WebP and six for AVIF. It never shrinks the pixel size to make a file fit. When even the lowest quality is too large, the result says so and shows the smallest size it reached, so you decide: a simpler image, WebP, or a different placement.
The Google Ads limit for uploaded image ads is 150 KB. The LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest and Meta limits come from the same spec table as the Ad Spec Checker, so the two tools always agree.
Ad sizes, crops and padding
Display sizes are the twelve sizes of the banner size kit plus every size Google Ads lists for uploaded display ads. Social sizes are the recommended image sizes each placement publishes. Crop to fill covers the whole canvas and cuts around the point you pick in the three by three grid; Fit inside keeps the whole picture and fills the rest with your background colour, or leaves it transparent in PNG, WebP and AVIF. A picture smaller than the output is enlarged and flagged, because it will look soft.
What the output contains, and what it does not
JPG files come from MozJPEG as progressive JPEGs. PNG comes from the browser's encoder, or from oxipng when you ask for lossless optimization. WebP comes from the browser, or from libwebp in browsers that cannot encode it. AVIF comes from libavif. Every file is checked before it is offered: EXIF, XMP, IPTC, ICC profiles, comments and text chunks are removed, so no camera, location, author or software details travel with your ad. Colours are converted to sRGB while decoding, the colour space ad platforms display.
Free and Pro
Free: up to 5 files per run, every input and output format, every size, crop, background and file size target.
Pro: folders and ZIPs of up to 200 files per run, one image to a whole size set in one ZIP, every page of a PDF or AI file, and every PSD layer as its own PNG with a layers.json of positions. See AdCheckLab Pro.
Built on open source, loaded only when needed
The decoders and encoders are open source: ag-psd 31.0.3 (MIT), pdf.js 6.3.289 (Apache 2.0), UTIF.js 4.1.0 (MIT) with pako 2.1.0 (MIT and Zlib), jSquash (Apache 2.0) for MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif and oxipng, and JSZip 3.10.1 (MIT). Each is downloaded from jsDelivr only when a file needs it, at that exact version, and checked against a fixed hash before it runs. If one cannot load, only the file that needed it is skipped, with a message.
Before and after the conversion
Check a finished image against Google Ads, CM360 and DV360 in the Banner Validator, and against every social placement in the Ad Spec Checker. For an HTML5 banner ZIP, the Banner Compressor shrinks the images inside it, and the Safe Zone Checker shows whether text sits under a platform's buttons.
Questions about the Image Converter
No. The file is read with your browser's File API and converted in background workers on your device. The only downloads are the open source libraries a file needs, fetched from jsDelivr and checked against a fixed hash. File names and contents are never sent to analytics.
It was saved with Maximize Compatibility off, so Photoshop stored only the layers. In Photoshop open Settings (Preferences in older versions), then File Handling, set Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility to Always, and save the file again. If you cannot, choose Rebuild from layers: it draws the visible layers with normal blending and tells you which effects it left out.
Yes, when the AI file was saved with Create PDF Compatible File, which Illustrator does by default. The converter renders that PDF copy at the scale you choose, sharp at any ad size. An AI file without it can only be opened by Illustrator; save it again with the option ticked, or save a PDF.
Choose JPG, pick the display size, and set the file size target to Google Ads image ad, 150 KB. The converter finds the highest quality that fits and shows it next to the file. If even the lowest quality is too large, it says so and keeps the size you asked for; a simpler image or fewer fine details usually fixes it.
PNG, WebP and AVIF keep it while Keep transparency is ticked. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick, white by default.
A .fig file is in Figma's own format, which only Figma renders; export the frames as PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF and drop those. HEIC needs the image decoder of the browser, and only Safari 17 or later has one; on Windows or Android, export a JPG from your photo app first.
A PDF or AI file draws with the fonts embedded in it, as designed. An SVG drawn as an image can only use fonts installed on this device, so convert text to outlines before exporting the SVG when the exact typeface matters.
